Are you considering hiring a Pennsylvania genealogist? Are you researching in Pennsylvania yourself? Or perhaps you are researching our mutual ancestors. Whatever your reason, I’m glad you’re here.
Many people feel they’ve hit a “brick wall” in their research. Or they feel overwhelmed trying to organize and digitize their family photos and documents. Many would like to write a family narrative so future generations may know their legacy.
DNA tests are hugely popular. However, many people take the test and have no idea what the results mean.
Someone may decide to hire a professional genealogist for many reasons. As a full-time, professional genealogist, I can help you
- tear down your brick wall
- apply to a lineage society
- get published in a genealogy journal
- take the mystery out of your DNA matches and establish the “next steps” for DNA research
- implement a storage plan for documents and photos
And most importantly, I can help you establish a family tree with deep roots, not shaky leaves. In case you don’t get the reference, Ancestry “hints” used to appear as shaky leaves. Yes, my motto dates me. I am part of the “Oregon Trail” generation.1 I was in high school during a time in which we used microfilm and the internet equally (if you call the limited information available after the squeal of dial-up the internet). I efficiently utilize the digitized resources online, but I also track down the necessary records housed in county courthouses, local repositories, boxes in the attic.
The bulk of my research is in Pennsylvania, where my family has lived for three hundred years. I live in western Pennsylvania and can act as a boots-on-the-ground resource, helping you help you find documents not available online.
I can help.

I have extensive experience researching the Scots Irish and the various separations and mergers of the Presbyterian Church in America. Have you ever wondered what is the difference between a Covenanter and a Seceder? Or how you would find their records? My expertise is with the Scots Irish who lived in and migrated through Pennsylvania. I also have significant experience researching in New England, Virginia, and Ohio; and German and Swedish lines. Fortunately, strong research skills and methodology can apply to research conducted almost anywhere.
