The 2026 National Genealogical Society Conference is quickly approaching. I will be sharing a prerecorded presentation, which will be made available to all in-person and virtual attendees on May 28, 2026, at 11:15 am, and will remain available until July 15, 2026.
Cousin America has Run Off with a Presbyterian Parson: How the Scots-Irish Influenced the Founding of a Nation
| Session Number: TH14 | |
| Few groups who defined the revolutionary generation left as distinctive a mark as the Scots-Irish. This presentation will help to identify this ethno-religious group; how and when they came to the American colonies; where the settled; and why they had a “disproportionate” involvement in the American Revolution. We’ll do a very high-level overview of types of records that can help you research the Scots-Irish and finally, review how their activities during the colonial and revolutionary period influenced the founding of the new nation. *This session will be pre-recorded and available to view here at the date/time listed for this session. The recording will remain viewable to all attendees (virtual and in person) until 15 July, 2026. |
