Fees

MACY’s Genealogical Research charges a $50 hourly fee for genealogical research and lineage society applications.

For every ten (10) hours of prepaid work, I will apply a 30-minute credit to your invoice. If the work is completed in less than the pre-paid hours, you can choose to have the balance refunded or apply it as a credit to future work. If the payment is a gift certificate, any balance will be applied to future work.

This fee includes digitizing records and reasonable out-of-pocket expenses (mileage, parking, tolls, database fees, etc.) within a fifty (50) miles radius of the 16102 zip code. The client may authorize additional fees beyond the fifty-mile radius or to obtain copies of records, as necessary. Also, the genealogist may recommend that the client pays for third-party services directly, such as vital records or a DNA test.

How much will it cost?

Each project is different. After the complimentary consultation, the prospective client will receive a proposal, including anticipated time and cost. The scope of research and any limitations, including time or travel restrictions, will be clearly defined in the agreement between the client and MACY’s Genealogical Research, LLC.

Depending on the scope of the project, the client will receive a fully-source-cited finished project. Examples of finished products include a research report, a lineage society application, or a Family Narrative.
